My shows at Harlem continue to be a great success! May's show was SOLD OUT with reservations before the night even started! Great news for the restaurant, but disappointing for the friends that couldn't get in to see the show. Call 416.368.1920 to make reservations for the Richmond Street location, 2nd floor.
Everything from the Jambalaya, to the Jerk Meatloaf, to the Blackened Catfish, to the Fried Chicken & Waffles, to the Mississippi Masala Mussels is awesome!
I'll be playing solo acoustic soul from Philly, Motown, Oakland, Houston, Chicago and more.
Next Harlem Nightclub show is Fri June 1 '12.

"Rhyme & Reason" is a new series of shows, hosted by singer/songwriter Dan McLean Jr. That's me! Everything will be video'd, and posted as podcasts.
In each Rhyme & Reason show/episode, I'll host two songwriters. I'll invite each of them to play some of their favourite original songs, and I'll interview them about songwriting. Finally, the three of us will play together, including songs that we've co-written especially for Rhyme & Reason.
This will be a unique look at some of the best songwriters around. You'll get once-in-a-lifetime looks at some of your favourite songwriters. You'll finally get to see songwrieters that your friends have been telling you about. You'll discover even more songwriters that will knock your socks off!
The first show will be Sat July 21 '12, with doors at 7pm, when my first guests will be Kevin Quain & Jay Pollock.
A VERY
limited number of tickets will be available starting July 1.
Musideum is at 401 Richmond St E, on the S side, 1 door E of Spadina Ave.
The entrance is at the N/W corner of the building.
Lorussopalooza is an outdoor, summer, music festival just outside Magnetawan, three hours north of Toronto. For my set, I'll be backed by The Joyful Sinners, and their "greasy Soul". We've been fans of each other since the night we met, and I'm SOOOO excited to be doing a show with them! This will be my first show with a full band, and will be MUCH more agressive than you've heard me do before. Drums, bass, electric guitar, keys & horns!
Other festival performers include Erik Bleich, Mark Cassidy, The Joyful Sinners, Carl Lorusso Jr, The MIP Power Trio, The Peter James Project, and Noah Zacharin.
The music runs Sat Aug 25 from 2pm (that's when I play) until the wee hours.
Free camping! Free BBQ dinner! Only $30!
